The U.S. Green Building Council's GreenBuild International Conference and Expo will take place in Phoenix, AZ, from November 11-13. This is the eighth annual GreenBuild Conference, with last year's being held in Boston, MA.
 
The Green Build Expo website gives details about speakers, educational sessions, exhibits, tours, and events.
 
Former Vice President Al Gore will be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony. This year's theme is "Green building can and must come home to all people, boosting the quality of life across the country and around the world."
 
GreenBuild was launched by the USGBC in 2002 as "the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building". Greenbuild not only features speakers, seminars, workshops and products, but it also provides tours of green buildings in each host city.

Designers, the Boston Residential Design and Construction (RDC) convention and trade show that's scheduled for April 1-2 not only provides an opportunity for you to learn about the latest design innovations and to network with your peers and prospective clients, but you can also take advantage of their Design Firm Showcase.
 
Convention attendees can view the portfolios of residential work by architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firms in print and on a 50-inch digital display rotating slide show. You can be one of those featured designers. Here's the RDC link that describes the event, and here's a PDF that describes the eligibility requirements, submission guidelines, and entry fees for the Design Firm Showcase call for portfolios.
 
All entries must be received at the Boston Society of Architects office by 4:00 PM on March 2nd. Instructions for how and what to submit are provided in the aforementioned PDF.

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is inviting entries for its 2009 Annual Meeting and EXPO to be held September 18-21 in Chicago at the Lakeside Center, McCormick Place. The meeting theme will be Beyond Sustainability: Regenerating Places and People.
 
If you're interested in presenting and sharing your knowledge with the landscape architecture profession, you're encouraged to submit a proposal online for consideration (click here for details). The call for presentations will be open until February 20, 2009. Categories for this year's presentations will include:
  • General Design
  • Residential Design
  • Analysis and Planning
  • Research
  • Communications
  • The Landmark Award
  • The Student Community Service Award
  • Student Collaboration

Now that the 2008 Election season is over, that means that Build Boston is nearly upon us.
 
Held at the Seaport World Trade Center, it's billed as "the premier regional tradeshow and convention for the design and construction industry". This year's event is being held from the 18th to the 20th of November.
 
At last check, the exhibitor list totaled more than 350 and more than 240 workshops were planned. Architects, interior designers, and other industry professionals may earn continuing education credits by attending one or more of the Build Boston workshops or tours. For more details about the CEU and Learning Unit programs and contacts, click here.
